Thermal transfer film structure

The thermal transfer film generally consists of four layers of a carrier layer, a release layer, an ink layer, and a glue layer.

1. Carrier layer: The carrier layer is mainly a base film, and the base film is a transparent film, which is a carrier for a release agent, an ink and a glue. It requires temperature and pressure resistance and good stability. The base film is generally made of PET, which has the characteristics of good stability, uniform tension, and good heat and pressure resistance.

2, Release layer: that is, a coating with a release agent. The release agent is a transparent resin which is characterized by release property, film formability, adhesion and low viscosity. During processing, the release agent dissolves by heating and is detached from the base film. It acts to separate the ink from the base film and transfer it to the substrate. The release agent needs to have good wear resistance, reduce ultraviolet radiation, reduce airborne unfavorable molecular corrosion, thereby prolonging the life of the ink, protecting the ink, and at the same time, buffering the adhesion of the base film and the ink.

3. Ink layer: The ink is formed by air drying to form a pattern transferred to the surface of the substrate. That is, the ink is the basis for forming a printed pattern. The thermal transfer uses gravure printing technology, and the printed patterns are various in color and bright in color. The quality of the ink has a certain impact on the quality of the product. High quality ink, odorless, environmentally friendly, and will not harm the body.

4, Glue layer: glue is the adhesive, its role is to let the ink blend on the surface of the product. For different materials, choose different glues according to the material of the product.
